What Does Your Team Need?

Arsenal

An almost perfect squad. Width could be a long term concern with right back and the wide midfielders needing cover. That can wait til the summer.

Bournemouth

Howe needs to find a replacement for Ake. The freest scorers outside the top seven but conceded more than anyone outside the bottom four. Sahko or Fonte would be good options.

Burnley

They’ve scored the same amount as Swansea, who are bottom. A goalscoring midfielder would take the pressure off Gray and Vokes. Snodgrass  or even Tom Ince may be tempting as well as another striker like Ighalo or Brentford’s Scott Hogan.

Chelsea

Business will be done in the summer. For now Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek can fill the void left by Oscar and Mikel. In the summer a striker and defensive cover will be the priorities.

Crystal Palace

Full backs are the priority. Jenkinson looks set to sign and Robbie Brady would be a good addition. If they can get Benteke and Remy firing they’ll be fine and Sam can rebuild in the summer.

Everton

Probably overpaid for Schneiderlin but a good acquisition. A backup for Lukaku is the obvious need. Ulloa could be a stop-gap or Stoke’s Berahino represents a calculated risk. A goalkeeper will surely be bought in the summer.

Hull City

The emphasis is on keeping players. Livermore has gone and it’s important not to lose Snodgrass despite lots of interest. Everyone could do with a 20 goal a season striker but getting someone in on loan would help. Again Ulloa? Berahno? Solanke? Jordan Benteke? They need someone who is seriously hungry.

Leicester

Their two central defenders are thirty two, so new blood is needed. Wantaway pair Sahko and Fonte again are good options, as is Steven Caulker. A loan for Wimmer could be beneficial for both clubs but Ranieri may be tempted to look to Italy for someone like Armando Izzo.

Liverpool

Milner could play anywhere but he’s not a natural left back. Spurs’ Ben Davies would be excellent but expensive. Klopp is likely to look to Germany with Jonas Hector a long term option.

Manchester City

Pep needs a defensive leader and lost a huge one in Joe Hart. Kompany’s career has been disrupted by injury and he can’t keep playing Kolarov in the middle. Badstuber and Van Dijk look unlikely but countryman Stefan de Vrij could suffice. Burnley’s Keane is an attractive homegrown option.

Manchester United

Mourinho has trimmed his squad and will build in the summer. He’ll likely need to replace Carrick and get a world class striker. Veratti would be a perfect fit. The full back area could do with addressing if Shaw and Darmian are considered surplus to requirements.

Middlesborough

They’ve conceded the same amount of goals as Arsenal but scored the fewest in the league. I’m not sure Gestede is the answer to that. Europe provides lots of options like Aspas, Modeste, Kalinic – all players approaching thirty who may fancy a crack at the premier league.

Southampton

Another team in dire need of a striker. They never replaced Pelle and Boufal is at the AFCON. He might be tempted to raid old club Nice for Plea or get one of Carillo or Lemar on loan from Monaco.

Stoke

They should have kept Wollscheid and Butland is a big miss for them. Goals are a problem too with Crouch their top scorer. Midfield injuries seem to have eased so another forward may be Hughes’ target. Hogan, Jay Rodriguez or Jordan Rhodes perhaps.

Sunderland

I’m not sure you can buy miracles. Their defensive acquisitions in the summer were terrible and the squad needs real leadership. Lesser used players like Larsson and Rodwell need to step up now and fight. It’ll probably be a case of rebuilding in the championship under a different manager.

Swansea

Clement looks to be adding good players but needs to replace Ashley Williams. He needs a monster. Could he use his Chelsea connections to get Kurt Zouma on loan? Sahko, or Newcastle captain Lascelles are other strong contenders.

Tottenham

The summer will be more important for Spurs. I would disrupt the squad now. Janssen doesn’t seem like adequate cover for Kane so they’ll have to hope he doesn’t get injured but it’s one of the strongest squads in the league. Maybe just a striker loan.

Watford

By this point you realise the premier league is all about goals. Watford are the joint fifth lowest scorers, and that’s after Deeny and Ighalo lighting up the league last season. They need more midfield creativity to get them going again, maybe someone like Henri Lansbury.

West Brom

Another summer job here. An Ageing defence and central midfield partnership need looking at while Rondon can’t be the only striker. Kyle Bartley would be my pick along with a good forward if they want to push for Europe.

West Ham

The defence seems to have sorted itself out with the return of Cresswell and if Carroll can stay fit they’ll push for the top half. With Zaza and potentially Payet leaving and Ayew at the AFCON another forward or goalscoring midfielder is key. Benteke would likely be too expensive so someone like Ulloa or Berahino.
